The importance of successfully bringing or defending claims for delay and disruption is perhaps increased by the current economic climate.

In the Walter Lilly judgement, which ran to more than 100 pages, the TCC High Court has provided contractors and employers with important guidance on the correct approach to ‘global’ claims, calculation of extensions of time and loss and expense under standard form contracts.

The judgement has been the subject of much debate in the trade press and is likely to become the main authority on such issues.
