Aims of the course:

This seminar is the second in a series of four events we will be holding over the coming months that will cover typical problems and issues which arise during the life of a project.

Topics covered:

    For this seminar we will be talking about some of the cost and payment issues which can occur whilst a project is on site. Amongst the issues we will cover are;

    • Fitness for purpose responsibility – what does this mean and what are the risks?
    • Records which should be kept to support variation and claim entitlements.
    • The rules for payment notices and withholding payment.
    • Variations – can I insist on a price or refuse to carry out the work?
    • What to do if a dispute situation arises – protective measures and advice on ways to improve or avoid prejudicing your position.
