Aims of the course:

This seminar will be the first in a series of four events we will be holding over the coming months that will cover typical problems and issues which arise during the life of a project.

The topics are of general application and will be of particular interest to contractors undertaking work under UK contracts.

Topics covered:

    For the first in the series we will be speaking about issues at the front end of a project – when it is essential that the correct decisions are made to ensure that the project gets off to a good start.

    During the seminar we will look at:

    • Letters of intent – what are the dangers?
    • Do I have a contract? The “battle of the forms” and the impact of the new UK legislation
    • Mitigating risk
    • Programmes – contract compliance

    Subsequent seminars in our series will look at issues during the execution phase of a project and what to do if a dispute arises.
