Shaun Whitlock

Shaun Whitlock began his career with John Laing Construction as a pupil quantity surveyor. He later worked for two other major civil engineering contractors on large scale roads and bridges and power generation projects during which time he became a Chartered Quantity Surveyor. Shaun became a construction contracts consultant in 1999 and was elected as an Executive Director with Knowles in 2003. In 2002 Shaun gained an MSc in Construction Law and Arbitration and attained his Graduate Diploma in Law (CPE) in 2005. In 2007 Shaun was called to the Bar of England and Wales and in 2008 was admitted by the Law Society as a Solicitor. Shaun is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

KEY STRENGTHS

Shaun is a very experienced legal and contractual advisor with his particular strengths being in the analysis and interpretation of construction contracts, drafting terms and conditions, drafting pleadings and submissions in litigation, adjudication and arbitration proceedings together with representation in civil litigation, adjudication and arbitration proceedings. In addition Shaun provides commercial and contractual advice generally to Employers Contractors and Sub-contractors generally in building, engineering and health projects. Shaun has also lectured extensively throughout the UK on construction contracts and commercial issues.
